“I have multiple devices and need my information multiple places.”

I hear this a lot.  What is one to do, with computers, smart phones, tablets, netbooks, and more?  It seems it has become more complicated to keep information straight than it ever has been.  And these devices are supposed to make our lives easier! It boils down to usage and the right tools for the job. Digging a well with a spoon might be possible, but it would be incredibly frustrating and inefficient. Fortunately, there are several options to help!

My personal favoite tool is Google calendar.  There are other options out there, but I’ve found this to work the best. After creating a Google account, you are able to sync calendar applications including Outlook and native mobile calendars to Google. This means that any appointment made on any device shows up on the others. It’s pretty cool. I use this for multiple color-coded calendars, so I can keep the schedules of my family members and my church all in front of me. In addition, any changes on my phone to the church calendar also reflects to the church website. So, setting or changing a date for an event at church in a meeting will update the church website automatically.

As far as information goes, there are multiple choices. Microsoft SkyDrive, Apple ICloud, Google Documents, Evernote, and Dropbox are just a few. Which one is best for you? It depends largely on what platforms you are using, and how you plan to use the information. Look them up and see what fits your works style best. Confused? Drop me a note at the about tab.

I hope this helps more than confuses. With so many good options out there, it is sometimes hard to sift through it all.
